David Usher is a young musician from Canada, he grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia and helped form the multi-platinum selling grunge/hard-rock group Moist. The singer/songwriter released two discs with MOIST by the names of Silver and Creaturebefore putting out his first solo effort titled little songs. Little songs wasn't marketed at all and its sales didn't achieve anything great, but the music on little songs revealed and new and amazing side of David Usher, the capability to write awesome raw, naked, acoustic guitar ballads and jazzy tunes. He latter joined forces again with Moist and released Mercedes 5 and Dime. After that David released a much more marketed disc entitled Morning Orbit, this disc showed a more familiar to moist sound, yet contained things totally new to this artists catalog such as pop-tinged rock songs and power-ballads. Record sales were pretty good, for a Canadian Artist, and the single Black Black Heart was a radio smash hit. He recently released an album titled Hallucinations" which was barely marketed at all, and is arguably the best thing under his belt yet. Filled with less radio-friendly rock tunes, piano lines, experimental voyages, poetic ramblings, and spiritual ideas.
Chances are you haven’t ever heard of David Usher, but I suggest that you give him a listen, below is a list of songs to sample from the artist, and which cds they were on.
Silver (with Moist): Push
Creature (with Moist): Leave it Alone
Little Songs (Solo): F-Train
Mercedes 5 and Dime (With Moist): Underground
Morning Orbit (Solo): Alone in the Universe
Hallucinations (Solo): Times of our Lives
Man, I agree. He's always so personal in his work :] even on stage, he's so great with the audience <3 his appreciation for his fans definitely does not go unnoticed~!
